We template after the units are fitted. Ordering stone off a plan is how you end up with a 4 mm gap along a wall.

Counters & Vanities — common questions
Quartz, granite or marble?
Quartz is the practical kitchen choice — non-porous and consistent. Granite handles heat better. Marble is the most beautiful and the least forgiving of citrus and oil. We show samples in your light.
When do you measure?
After the cabinets are fitted, never from a drawing. Templating the installed carcass is the only way to avoid a visible gap along a wall that is not straight.
Can I have a waterfall edge?
Yes, on islands and breakfast bars. It uses more material and needs a mitred joint cut so the veining runs continuously over the edge, so it does affect the price.
