How high should the track go?
As close to the ceiling as the structure allows — it makes the window read taller. If there is a false ceiling going in, we build a recessed curtain pocket so no track is visible at all.
Are motorised curtains worth it?
On tall or hard-to-reach windows, yes. They need power at the right end of the window, so decide before the ceiling closes up or you will be running a visible cable.
Blackout or sheer?
Most bedrooms want both on a double track — sheer for daytime privacy, blackout for sleep and for keeping the afternoon heat out. Living rooms usually only need sheer.
